about

Danish star Schodt was responsible for our imprint's biggest release of 2013: his debut artist album, "Darkness | Light." A pair of favorites from that album have been given the remix treatment by two spectacular talents: veteran sensation Dan Stone and rising star AWD, both of whom hail from the UK.

AWD, whose recent work on Enhanced has been supported on radio by Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, and Chicane, contributes a euphoric interpretation of Schodt's "You're Brighter Than The Sun." The main vocal hook from the original mix offers a hypnotic start to the remix, as the percussion slowly builds behind it. Soon thereafter, we are met by a roaring bassline, punctuated by a delicate piano line. In the main break, the poignant piano riff is highlighted, followed by a rapturous layered trance lead, which carries the listener into the explosive drop.

Dan Stone is an especially exciting addition to our imprint's roster. A contributor to the mighty Anjunabeats imprint since 2006, Dan has been a fixture on the leading Trance & Progressive radio platforms for the past decade and continues to write inspiring and emotive music in that niche, as well as tour the world as an international DJ. His remix of Schodt's "Angel No. 8" is a mellifluous affair from the very beginning: vocal stabs soar above uplifting chords in the early going. The melodic layers continue to build, leading up to the main break. There, we are met by a powerful piano-centered chord progression, while ethereal pads fill out the soundscape. These elements join the lead themes from the original in the track's climactic moments, and then are fully unleashed in the jubilant drop.
