For our last Silk Textures release, we heard the deeper side of Shingo Nakamura, veteran Silk artist better known for his uplifting, melodic progressive. The same can be said for the imprint's 11th offering, as Danish progressive star has treated us to a rare deep house gem. "White Rabbit," originally released some time ago on Silk Sofa's first sampler, now comes equipped with two new remixes by genre specialists Faces and Adam Byrd.
The Original Mix by Schodt, who has had massive hits on Beatport with "White Tiger" and "You and Me" this past year, is full of intrigue: the sensual textures and exotic spoken word samples suggest that this particular 'rabbit' may be leading us to a mysterious place. Schodt is a true producer's producer, demonstrated again by this cinematic beauty.
Faces, the talented Hungarian duo who have contributed to Silk several times before in the past few years (including the tremendous "One Way"), have shed some of the textures and opted instead for a more light-hearted, "minimalist" take. The stripped beat and the 80's-influenced lead synths evoke a futuristic world.
Finally, label standout Adam Byrd, whose "Imaginary Friend" remains one of the imprint's most supported tracks, offers a characteristically sophisticated and sexy rendering. Byrd has added numerous new layers here - a combination of emotive textures and side melodies - and centers them on a "classic" deep house rhythm. The result is another imaginative beauty by the Hungarian sensation.
